I typed in http://area51.stackexchange.com and I did not get redirected to the https version. Is this intentional or a bug?

The redirection works for stackoverflow and stackexchange

The site also breaks when using HttpsEverywhere. Guessing area51 isn't entirely moved to HTTPS? Commented Jul 25, 2018 at 19:35
  • I am using google crome and it works for me today. Commented Jul 27, 2018 at 12:50
  • Related Area 51 OpenID login is broken with HTTPS.

  • It does not work for me. I was just about to ask this question, myself. Hi @JamesJenkins, I fondly use Google Chrome, too; and as a matter of fact, I am at this moment, but the https version is of no avail to me. Any thoughts?

It redirects for me. Maybe the redirect has been corrected/added since you posted the question?

  • Just tried now, and it does not redirect for me. Perhaps this is a regression since this answer was posted.

  • @klutt Is there a certain browser you are using that could potentially be the cause of whether or not the link is able to redirect? It is not working for me, and I am currently using Google Chrome.

https://area51.meta.stackexchange.com uses the HTTPS protocol but http://area51.stackexchange.com does not.

I think this may be that they have not installed a SSL Certificate on all servers or included it in the area51 subdomain
