On Area 51 yesterday my score was 258 points.

From yesterday I've gained 35 points, but today my score is... 190!

How is it possible?

I attach my point by post (screenshot from Area 51).

We have a daily scheduled task that invalidates votes that match malicious-looking patterns. In this case, looks like someone did go ahead and cast a bunch of upvotes that got picked up by this tool and reversed about 17 hours ago.

  • So why, then, did it not show "voting corrected" on their reputation page?

  • @StephenLeppik Because Area 51 is based on an older code set that did not have any of that fancy stuff.

  • @AdamLear: Ok, but if those votes are malicious, you remove that increment but I remain to 258 (instead of 293) but I dropped to 190!

  • @JoeTaras Adam didn't say which votes were removed. They may have been some time ago, and the total amount removed was 103

  • @Rob: Ok. If Area51 has "voting corrected" notification, for trasparency is better.
