Proposal: Hardware Recommendations

I'm a bit late to the party and didn't see this proposal in definition.

Are questions like:

Is the Samsung Galaxy S6 any good?

on topic?

Perhaps that's too broad, but one could ask:

What's an overview of the features of the Samsung Galaxy S6.

Or

The Nokia 808 Pureview has a great camera, but is it suitable as a general all purpose consumer smart phone?

(In the question body you might be asking - I want to be able to look at google maps, check my facebook, use an organiser, sort my photos, etc).

For that matter is

Just how good is the Nokia 808 Pureview as a camera?

Also, for the question that's on my mind is:

What's the point of the 4MP main camera on the HTC One M8?

Going by the precedent of Software Recommendations, no.

Is the Samsung Galaxy S6 any good?

Obviously too broad and primarily opinion-based, completely unsuitable for Stack Exchange.

What's an overview of the features of the Samsung Galaxy S6.

Again, far too broad, unsuitable.

The Nokia 808 Pureview has a great camera, but is it suitable as a general all purpose consumer smart phone?

Again, primarily opinion-based, unsuitable.

Just how good is the Nokia 808 Pureview as a camera?

POB but getting closer to an acceptable question. We wouldn't take a similar question on SR: on all questions, answers are allowed to recommend any product they see fit that meets the requirements of the question.

HR might take a different position and go for a broader scope because of the lack of SE coverage of hardware topics, since SU is mostly PC-only.

What's the point of the 4MP main camera on the HTC One M8?

That sounds like a valid hardware design question, but here we're getting far from the audience of HR: it's about designing hardware, whereas SR/HR are consumer-oriented.
