    This seems off-topic for this meta, but generally speaking, you'll want to "commit" to the site if it's still in the commit stage, and start asking questions and participating in the beta. Beyond that, try to get others to do the same. – phantom42 Jun 13 '14 at 18:30

You can support a beta site by advertising it;

  • Start by asking and answering lots of questions. People will only join if they see that the community is active.
  • Outreach to existing communities in the same sector. Basically spamming other chatrooms and discussion forums for the same topic space.
  • Post your own ad for the site as a community promotion ad on related stacks.
  • Encouraging existing users to commit.
  • Encouraging non-users to commit.

For what it's worth, a site that's over 9 months old and only has 52 followers is basically doomed...
