Proposal: Healthcare

I am an office manager at a small medical office. While searching for the right SE I first overlooked this one because the of the title "Healthcare" did not quite describe what I was looking for.

What I am looking for: A place where someone such as my self can ask or share information on billing, EMR, additional ways of revenue for X type of doctor, office work flows, ect. Basically any type of question that someone in my field might have regardless of office size.

My Question: Is this the place? And if so what do people think about changing the name to something like "Healthcare Industry"?

When I originally made this proposal, I didn't really have those types of questions in mind (for the most part), however I don't see any reason why this proposal couldn't also include questions like those.

Healthcare IT was closed because it didn't get enough traffic. Hopefully by making this more general, this stack exchange will be more successful. On that note, I've renamed this as "Healthcare Industry" in hopes of attracting more people.

    Okay great. So how do we contact the people from Healthcare IT?lol :). Also I would like to add that I am open to a different variation of the name, I was just suggesting that maybe it should be more clear as to the purpose. I feel like just "Healthcare" means to much and can be seen as "I have a rash wt##@..?" or "How do I care for a baby who has a fever?"

  • @KirillFuchs Yeah, I was unsure of the original name too. Healthcare industry sounds better. If a better name comes up, I'm open to changing it. As for contacting Healthcare IT members, I am not sure how to do that (or if it's even possible).

  • @Oleski I have a list of the Users.xml downloaded from the original Healthcare IT (the questions were downloadable when the site was discontinued and that came with it) its not much but it may be able to help. I dont want to post it here. Is there is a way I can email it or w/e.

  • Hey @jtzero, thanks! I also have that file from the original. We are close to our required number of followers but don't have enough questions, so what we really need right now is people to ask and vote on some more questions. When we get into the commitment phase, we can hopefully use that user information to get commits quickly.
