Proposal: eosio
Getting users with high rep is not that easy.
I would strongly suggest NOT taking the actions outlined here. The suggestions are INADVISABLE.
The activities suggested in this thread will only hurt the chances of this site being launched, but could potentially get you suspended or to lose your account.
First, directing users how to vote in any capacity is always a terrible, terrible idea. Voting is supposed to be organic, not targeted. Communities are very protective of this and will feel compelled to "right that wrong" by counteracting it with down-votes (you saw that first hand).
Second, the system has process in place to detect a level of disproportionate voting between groups of users and will remove that activity automatically. At best, those votes will simply be reversed; at worst, you'll get a nastygram from a moderator which may result in a suspension or removal of your account.
Can we post an eos question and link back to this proposal?
Unfortunately, no. We cannot allow solicitation of users or advertising of proposals across the sites. With so many proposals vying for attention, folks soliciting support on other sites became unworkable pretty fast. That type of linking or similar activity will be flagged and removed.
To create a new site, Stack Exchange require a certain level of experience among the participants in using this software and working with the community. To accomplish this, there are many sites you can gain experience with to help move this proposal forward. Step away from EOS.IO evangelizing for a bit and get to know some of our other communities:
List of Stack Exchange Subjects
With subjects as diverse as "Pets", "Photography" "Outdoors", and "Sports", there's almost certainly a community here you can get to know and share your interests.
I was wondering about this myself and tried to join some other groups but I am only really interested in eos at the moment.
Is it allowed to post an eos question and then include a link back to the proposal? I think if we post a bunch of the top rated questions on the main site we should be able to get a bit of interest
Probably using the tag in StackOverflow for Q/A while we get the approval from Area51 helps users with low rep to pump their numbers.
The example questions can be replicated in StackOverflow and then invite our community to answer them. Right now there is now way to answer the proposed questions, so using the tag WHILE we get to the 100 users with +200 re points is a good option. IMHO.
This is an example of the How are transactions feeless for end users on eosio? question.
