I found this How can we move our proposal from the Business to the Science category? this Move 'Bharat' to 'Culture' category? and couldn't find any other questions about this, so:

How does one move a newly created proposal to a different category? Say it was just made a few minutes ago, but already has some followers and questions and doesn't want to start all over etc., how can it be moved?

I guess you can do two things:

  • Post a question in the Discussion Zone, like you did.
  • Flag the proposal for moderator attention:

Those are the standard ways on the Stack Exchange network to notify a moderator. A flag is less noise and you can be certain it will be read, because it ends up in a queue.
