Proposal: The Art of Pick Up

I know there are many aficionado pickup artists, but what, exactly, is a professional one? Who pays people to pick up women? Perhaps some sort of confidence man?

Much as I will regret answering this, a 'professional pickup artist' is one of the guys who make money by offering 'courses' or 'training' on 'pickup strategy' and make money that way. So one step up from gigolo. Just one.

    Seems to me those people are professional speakers/motivators, who talk about pickup artistry (much like how Robert Kiyosaki makes money talking about buying and selling real estate, rather than by buying and selling real estate). But maybe I'm being pedantic.
