Proposal: Gamification

Please upvote the Gamification community ads on Programmers and User Experience so that it reaches the minimum score threshold necessary for these ads to be displayed on the front page of the websites. The ad is already upvoted enough to be part of the rotation of ads on Programmers, let's do the same on User Experience!

This would give us more visibility, attract followers and get our questions upvoted.

Please edit this question if you have more ideas about promoting this proposal.

Wouldn't advertising on Arqade (the gaming SE) make sense?

  • @shanodin It would, but I personally don't have an account on Arqade.

I have added the Community Ad on two SE sites. Both need 6 upvotes to show up on the website.

I write for the site TechnologyAdvice.com, and we get about 20K visits a month. Our main focus is on B2B tech including gamification solutions. This Q&A community seems like a great idea, and I'll try to get a short article written and posted on our blog soon (edit - article posted, see below). We'll also promote it on our social media channels. Hopefully we can drive some traffic this way.

I plugged the proposal on Reddit. That said, it was on /r/shamelessplug

Coursera recently ran a course on Gamification, maybe some there would be interested in extending their involvement to a community with experts and beginners alike.

  • I posted there initially as I was taking the course. I have also posted in the Google+ communities of the class.
