Proposal: Bitcoin & Crypto-currency

Anyone going to get upset if I question whether bitcoin belongs in the Business category or if it belongs in Technology more? It's certainly applicable to both and perhaps the economics requirements here are stronger than the technicals, but I somehow doubt too many people will be coming here for a dissertation on Keynesian economics compared to, say, a strange error when starting the client or some other technical detail.

It definitely straddles the two categories. Since we have to pick one or the other, I'd say it belongs in technology more than in business. It seems like most of the business questions we might get would also be technology questions, and we'll certainly get technology-only questions as well.

I'd agree with you here. More likely that people will come for technical questions than a discussion about the bitcoin economy. Technical stuff was the reason I first signed up for the bitcointalk forums (though they were named differently at the time).

I feel as though bitcoin business is a subcategory of the bitcoin technology, as bitcoin is a technology not strictly limited to business i.e. personal use - say trading or gambling with friends - doesn't count as business does it? Is individual investment/saving business? Is your wallet business for that matter? Whereas, all usage of bitcoin involves the technology.
