I currently am getting my PhD in Physics, specializing in Computational Astrophysics (magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) models of supernova remnants). I use Fortran 90+ for my hydrodynamic codes, but am familiar with C/C++, Lua, and Python.
My profile image is actually one of my recent simulations. It is a plot of the logarithm of the number density of particles (dark is more dense) of a supernova remnant expanding into a homogeneous medium. The wiggles are actually Rayleigh-Taylor instabilities developing due to the interaction of the two plasmas. It took about 4 hours to complete the simulation (this is image 67 of 80) on TACC's Stampede.
My expertise is in astrophysics, fluid dynamics and numerical methods, but I am a professional physicist (meaning I should be able to answer most general questions). According to my profile, most of my answers are in
