Proposal: Amateur Radio

Granted, meeting Elmers in real life is best, but what if someone had questions about the usage of a Q-signal (for instance, why is everyone asking me QTH? Someone could explain 'location'), or just about general radio etiquette, or perhaps even just sharing QSOs? Or will only technical questions be allowed? In other words, can we ask questions about the hobby, things encountered on the air, and general practices surrounding ham radio or are only technical questions on topic?

The on topic should include anything that helps understand what Amateur Radio is. The technical is only a part of that, the lingo is also very important. Also important are the laws. Anything of the type of question that the FCC test includes should be on topic.

I think filing this under Recreation rather than Technology is a great idea (I just noticed this). This makes it clear that just about anything related to the hobby of amateur (ham) radio will be on-topic.
