Proposal: Anime & Manga

This is a proposal for scope expansion.

Visual novels and light novels can be very closely related to anime and manga. Should the proposal be changed to include the discussion of visual and light novels.

I think if given franchise includes manga, anime, a visual novel and a light novel, it would be entirely wrong to exclude the two. It makes no sense to discuss Tsukihime the movie without ever mentioning the game upon which it is based.

I would definitely welcome visual novels, which are essentially more or less interactive manga. Light novels - I have no strong opinion one way or another, though generally as an inclusionist my vote is mild "yes".

I'm not entirely opposed to light novels, although I could be convinced otherwise. Visual novels, I may have to draw a line.

I think that the answer would lie in the scope of the proposal itself. Do we want to focus exclusively on Anime and Manga, or do we expand that to include Anime, Manga, visual novels and light novels as well?

I understand and appreciate that Anime/Manga covers a pretty wide diversity of materials, but I'm not sure that either of these fit. Not just yet, anyway.

Both visual novel and light novel are used as a (原作)gensaku for the anime. Sometimes discussion of visual novels, and light novels are important to the choices of clothing used in the anime for instance. We may never be able to avoid talking about VN's and LN's. Also, there is no point to exclude a topic for the point of exclusion, that's why we are discussing the scope, and I think the scope itself should be expanded.
