I have selected the wrong reason for closing a question. I wonder what effect will this have if the question will finally get closed? will this possibly make the reason for closing the question display incorrectly (for example if 1 other person makes the same error 1 person is wrong on why to close the question then the score would be 2 2 1 How then is the decision going to be made ?? This is not that unlikely because its easy to misclick especially if you don't read the selection carefully)

I tried clicking on the close again to change my option but i could not select another option instead it highlights my option in orange. Is there any way to change my reason. Does it really matter if I do or not?

I wouldn't worry about it. The final close reason displayed is based on the majority reason chosen. I don't know the algorithm for breaking ties (I believe it's 1st vote wins, but don't quote me on that), but it is largely inconsequential. If it comes to villagers storming the castle with torches over the text rather than the substance of the closure, I can change it on this end.

  • Alright, I'll hold you to your word :) too bad that i was the first vote. – Xitcod13 Oct 16 '12 at 14:39
