Proposal: Italian Language & Usage To avoid this proposal being closed again, should we contact committers of the previous proposal to invite them?
EDIT: How should we proceed in contacting people? I already sent some invites by commenting user posts on the SE network, but I think we should find a way to share the task between us..
EDIT: I have posted in the comments here below the list of previous users still to be contacted. Please help if you can!

I think it is a great way to boost the number of people supporting this proposal, and I don't see problems doing that!

I think so! I really would LOVE to see this one added. I really see myself using this site a LOT once/if it opens!

By all means! Personally I chanced to find out about the reopening just because @weber posted something to an old page and I got a highlight. Perhaps I would have read about this proposal sooner or later, but surely I would have missed the opportunity of becoming involved again today ;-)

EDIT :

As I have already written in the comments above, Lucius and I have tried to contact all the people who had supported the previous attempt and I'm very happy to say that quite a lot of those we reached have joined again. I'll try to contact a few more, but now we must come up with a different idea. We need to spread the news effectively, and we need to continue to produce good questions and, above all, to vote them!

  • about voting questions, I was just doing a few calculations: there are currently 83 followers, which gives me 83x5=415 total upvotes available, but current upvotes are only 137 in total. This means that, taking in account possible compensations with downvotes, there are still about 275 votes available and not cast. Roughly, we can assume that, out of 83 followers, 55 still have to cast their vote. We need some way to invite people to do it.

  • @Lucius. I've just been rebuked by some StackExchange mod for using my account to leave comments to contact people. It seems it's against the rules. I just wanted to inform you about it. I've already used my five votes; however, I may perhaps move one or two so as to upvote questions which could then reach the 10 upvote level. Perhaps we should all consider moving our votes about a bit, taking them away from questions that we like but which have no chance of reaching the necessary level. What do you think about it?

  • it happened to me as well.. What I did was to immediately remove the comment, apologizing with the mod. Heck, after all there is no other way to contact people here on SE.

Please do! Paola contacted me on StackOverflow to say the proposal has been reopened and I immediately followed it. I was not aware that the previous proposal had been closed.
