Proposal: Italian Language & Usage
To avoid this proposal being closed again, should we contact committers of the previous proposal to invite them?
EDIT:
How should we proceed in contacting people? I already sent some invites by commenting user posts on the SE network, but I think we should find a way to share the task between us..
EDIT: I have posted in the comments here below the list of previous users still to be contacted. Please help if you can!

1I've just read your edit. I appreciate the necessity of splitting up the task of getting in touch with those who have committed in the past. If someone can draw up a list of names, I am willing to do my share. Is there any other way rather than posting comments to posts of theirs mentioning the new "Italian language" proposal?– PaolaSep 10, 2012 at 17:05

In this case I read that users were contacted directly by the mod Robert, but I don't know if he would be willing to do it in this case as well– LuciusSep 10, 2012 at 19:50

I will see if I can find some spare time to do it and post the list here– LuciusSep 10, 2012 at 19:55

Ok, the list is ready.. I already contacted some of the old users, so they are not there (the results were encouraging, by the way). I would suggest proceeding like this: I'm going to split the list in numbered sub-lists. When one chooses one or more lists, he/she should let others know which ones he chose by posting a comment here below (so that we don't end up contacting the same people more than once, spamming the sites).– LuciusSep 12, 2012 at 20:00

1list 2 done as well. Once more, some unregistered users and a few who are inactive. However, I received one positive reply, which is a start.– PaolaSep 17, 2012 at 13:10

2Thank you, @Carlo_R. However, I've noticed that the growth has almost stopped and, having run out of previous supporters, we must come up with some good idea as to how to attract new people. And we must convince those who have committed to try and produce questions which may be upvoted, and to vote themselves.– PaolaSep 24, 2012 at 9:23

I think it is a great way to boost the number of people supporting this proposal, and I don't see problems doing that!
I think so! I really would LOVE to see this one added. I really see myself using this site a LOT once/if it opens!
By all means! Personally I chanced to find out about the reopening just because @weber posted something to an old page and I got a highlight. Perhaps I would have read about this proposal sooner or later, but surely I would have missed the opportunity of becoming involved again today ;-)
EDIT :
As I have already written in the comments above, Lucius and I have tried to contact all the people who had supported the previous attempt and I'm very happy to say that quite a lot of those we reached have joined again. I'll try to contact a few more, but now we must come up with a different idea. We need to spread the news effectively, and we need to continue to produce good questions and, above all, to vote them!

Hi! I was just about to write you.. no more need to do it! :-) welcome back on board!– LuciusSep 9, 2012 at 22:43

about voting questions, I was just doing a few calculations: there are currently 83 followers, which gives me 83x5=415 total upvotes available, but current upvotes are only 137 in total. This means that, taking in account possible compensations with downvotes, there are still about 275 votes available and not cast. Roughly, we can assume that, out of 83 followers, 55 still have to cast their vote. We need some way to invite people to do it.– LuciusSep 19, 2012 at 22:01

@Lucius. I've just been rebuked by some StackExchange mod for using my account to leave comments to contact people. It seems it's against the rules. I just wanted to inform you about it. I've already used my five votes; however, I may perhaps move one or two so as to upvote questions which could then reach the 10 upvote level. Perhaps we should all consider moving our votes about a bit, taking them away from questions that we like but which have no chance of reaching the necessary level. What do you think about it?– PaolaSep 19, 2012 at 22:45

it happened to me as well.. What I did was to immediately remove the comment, apologizing with the mod. Heck, after all there is no other way to contact people here on SE.– LuciusSep 20, 2012 at 8:05
Please do! Paola contacted me on StackOverflow to say the proposal has been reopened and I immediately followed it. I was not aware that the previous proposal had been closed.
