The BlenderQA site was recently pointed out to me (a Designerly.net site using the Question2Answer system). It appears to have been in operation for 10 months (oldest question is 10 months old), though it has less than 100 users.

For discussion: Would starting a Q&A site under the StackExchange banner help drive more community there, or should those who want a Blender-specific Q&A site simply use that existing community?

Proposal: Blender

There's already a 3d graphics proposal that caters for multiple software applications.

They should be using that instead.

I'm rather annoyed with designly.net that he's taken it upon himself to create blenderqa.com ... it should be on stackexchange without any shadow of a doubt

Not everyone wants to use SE. And they certainly don't want to all go through the Area51 process. Commented Jul 25, 2012 at 18:59

There are still people that are turned off by the SE 1.0 test run. It almost worked, but apparently the SO team didn't think it viable. Commented Dec 28, 2012 at 13:44
  • They also did that with Artificial Intelligence and Arduino ... but then allow sites like Chinese immigration which seems utterly baffling :S

The 3D Graphics proposal was closed due to "insufficient" activity. area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/5022/3d-graphics Maybe you are referring to the CG Artists proposal area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/38889/cg-artists
