Proposal: India

Can questions about political situation of India be asked and discussed on this proposal? Revolutionary measures are needed to be control the pathetic situation India is facing. I am asking this question because I strongly feel that these soft topics seem to be a bit debatable and might spark off offensive behaviours. So is it advisable to discuss Indian Politics or to keep it at bay?

Good Question, I believe these questions cannot be answered exactly. One will share his/her opinion which would be harder to be considered as answer. Few questions related to politics like

Which party is in power in Maharastra? would be appropriate.

Why some party is in power in Maharastra? would not be appropriate and might spark some Controversy.

All Stack sites recommends questions which can be answered with facts. If the question can not be answered by facts, likely to get opinions and guesses instead of answers or invoke some kind of debate where no single solution can be found, then the question should not be asked.
Same applies here.

  • What about questions related to politics which ask for opinions but beg for facts? Something like "Why is it believed that such-and-such must happen to the party in power in Maharashtra?" or simply "Why is it believed that such-and-such politicians is corrupt?"

You can't answer those questions with 100% accuracy, so I guess they shouldn't be allowed.
