Proposal: Islam

As you know, all of the Stack Exchange communities have a unique icon.
For example, the icon of the Stack Overflow community is this: SO.

The problem is that Islam has no icon, symbol, flag or color. Unlike some people think, the crescent moon symbol has nothing to do with Islam, not the green color.

There are two facts we have to face:

  1. Islam has no icon.
  2. We need an icon for this community.

These two facts are contradicting with each other. I have a suggestion, we can use and icon which is actually not an icon.

I have some suggestions below:

Islam The word "Islam" on a white space.
Tevhid The short form of the word of tawhid. Can also be written in English.
I Simply just the capital "I" of the initial letter of Islam.

What do you think about this matter?
Are there any other suggestions you could make?

  • Well, this matter could b taken up once the site starts. there you could post it in meta – Ashu Jun 15 '12 at 18:37
  • This forum is for handling proposals. These administrative and design issues for sites are best handled once the site gets created in it's own meta — blog.stackoverflow.com/2010/07/… – Robert Cartaino Jun 16 '12 at 13:27
  • I understand the reason why my question is close. But I don't understand why I get that one (at least one) down-vote. I wonder whom I offended... – hkBattousai Jun 16 '12 at 15:47

Generally, a new beta site uses the same generic template as every other beta site; this includes the icon which is normally just the initials of the proposal (most likely an "I" or "Is" for Islam, but that's technically still speculation) in a speech baloon.

A real icon, along with the rest of the site design, isn't generated until (read: unless) the site gets out of beta, at which point the active users would (read: should) be discussing it in-depth on the meta. Most likely with proposed designs being posted and voted on by the community.

FYI: Wikipedia seems to have found a symbol for Islam. Indeed, they use quite a few.
