There is currently a SharePoint proposal and a SharePoint Overflow proposal.

Why?

Proposal: SharePoint Overflow

I'm the main administrator for the existing Stack Exchange 1.0 site, SharePoint Overflow. We decided to move to Stack Exchange 2.0 and I spoke to Robert Cartaino about the best way to proceed.

I wanted to use the existing proposal but it specifically describes the site as for developers. I then tried to contact the existing proposal owner and raised a discussion about it here so that we could expand its definition to match our site.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a response, hence with Robert's advice we have a new proposal here for SharePoint Overflow to cover all SharePoint questions. Perhaps the existing proposal will be merged into this one.

I hate when the proponent abandon his proposal. If it's my call, I immediately would close it.

Why does it have to be the original proposer? If there is no response from the original proposer, what is the reason why someone else (with the required privileges) can't make the required modifications? There doesn't seem to be any opposition posted on the existing scope question.

@moberley: I wasn't able to get a response from anyone, so creating a new proposal was what Robert suggested. We have links to the new proposal from our site, and are advertising it across Twitter. Therefore it will make the transition harder if the new proposal for SharePoint Overflow is closed.

You have my support. The only reason I haven't used SharePoint Overflow is because it's a SE 1.0 site. Commented Feb 7, 2011 at 17:51

The SharePoint proposal was closed today in favor of the new SharePoint Overflow proposal.

The SharePoint proposal was closed in support of the larger, expanded proposal: SharePoint Overflow.

If you wish to see a SharePoint Stack Exchange, please bring your support to that proposal.
