I'm searching a StackExchange site where I can read about general network questions, like:

  • Windows/Linux Networks;
  • Hardware Routers, Switches, Gateways, another network hardware;
  • Network patterns, since cat-5 cable up to IP specifications, etc;
  • Network topology
  • Network Protocols and Layers
  • Wireless/wired setup/security
  • P2P and Network Hacking

The nearest site like this is Server Fault, that is "for system administrators and desktop support professionals", so I think "Network" is a different and passionate subject, that deserves a separated StackExchange site.

If your question deals with enterprise-level questions for people who manage or maintain computers in a professional capacity, Server Fault is the place to be.

If you're dealing more with desktop or personal computing issues, Super User was set up for that.

Trying to slice the subject down any finer than will not make the subject or coverage any better. It will only confuse and split the existing audience into smaller groups, which would not be good for the field of "networking."
