A quick look at the list of committers shows a lot of manly faces, at least for those that have have a picture. We need more women!

moms4mom has plenty of mothers - have you talked to them about merging?

It's not uncommon for women to avoid making their gender known on the internet, in order to avoid unwanted harassment.
There may well be more women than can be "seen".

Mrs DaveShaw will most likely join, but is a bit befuddled by the Area 51 side of stuff.
Once it get's a Beta I'll send her in ;)
It might be a tech barrier thing. My women friends weren't the ones who directed me to Stack Exchange. I wonder what their user stats are?
Also take into account that originaly SE has some programming related subjects covered and although I can only speak for the context in which I live (Mexico) but i haven't met many females tech-oriented enough to use the main/original/first sites of the stack exchange network which makes it a little bit harder (also i must admit that the few i have met are really skilled)
