Just FYI: about a week ago Robert Cartaino (an Area51 SE admin) changed the title to "Logic Design". Any good? Dec 14, 2011 at 12:14
  • Why no "HW Design" or "Hardware Design" ?

fpgaasicsocdesign.stackexchange.com isn't a very catchy URL. I kid

"FPGA, ASIC and SoC design" is too cumbersome to work as a title. "Programmable logic and FPGA design" got the proposal where it needed to go, but it's time to come up with shorter name that will capture the essence of what the site is about without just enumerating a bunch of subjects.

I'm not a domain expert is these subjects so maybe there's a simple phrase that encompasses these disciplines. "Logic Design" seemed like the… er, um, "logical" choice.

  • I think the name is ok, although a bit generic... Digital logic design might be a bit better. But, the description really needs updating to not have it be FPGA specific, but include ASICs and SOCs.
