This is going to happen as some point that someone asks ChatGPT to make a sample question for a proposal (I tried for Model Rocketry, it gave a reasable question). Should this be allowed?

No. Stack Exchange is for solving real problems and answering real questions that people have. If a question was generated by an AI, that means that it's not actually a real question/problem that a person is having.

If you're having to generate questions for the sake of generating questions, the proposal probably isn't worth it.

How would anyone know if the question was prompted by ChatGPT or a person?

If you ask ChatGPT for a question about a given topic (like underwater basketweaving), and then post it - how would the community know you weren't the one who came up with it?

    @Starshipisgoforlaunch - you asked if ChatGPT should be allowed to "generate example questions". You did not ask if ChatGPT should be allowed to "answer questions". Those are very different questions :) If ChatGPT can generate a question that fits the community, how would anyone know it wasn't generated by a person?

    @Starshipisgoforlaunch - they could have incorrect preconditions or assumptions, such as, "why does the crust float on the mantle; the crust is denser". But a question cannot be "wrong". And, in fact, if a question has a broken assumption or precondition, a good answer will fix that error.

The one reasonable one was:What are the most important factors to consider when designing a rocket's fins for stability and performance? @warren

    @Starshipisgoforlaunch - offtopic is offtopic, whether it's ChatGPT-generated or human-generated. If ChatGPT can generate a good question, there's no reason not to proffer it
