Proposal: Programming Language Design

Are questions about reimplementing languages that's made by others, on topic? (Title)

Examples:

  • Questions about adding new monads/dyads to a golfing language.

  • Questions about removing useless commands in a minimalist language.

  • Questions about reimplementing map function in a compiled language that does not have that function.

  • Questions about making the language faster.

I think we should allow this, but we need to change it to allowing only "design" aspects.

For example, questions about changing curly-brackets-required to indentation-required are design related and should remain on-topic.

However,

  • Questions about making the language faster.

is more of optimization and should be off topic.

We might also want to consider adding a tag like or something to find these kind of questions.
