Historically, Area 51 had no community moderators, as per the FAQ, with all moderation being handled by staff.

Now, it seems like Area 51 Discussions has a community moderator, in the form of Juan M (a former employee), as per the mod list.

Is this intentional, or is a change necessary?

    sigh I don't know whatever happened to fixing this. But the current tool for demoting employees does not touch Area 51's Meta and they have to be removed manually.
