Proposal: Bioacoustics

I asked an example question, and received a good edit suggestion.

Should I edit my original question while the proposal is in this Definition stage?
Or should I leave the initial question as is so that there is a record of that?

I would like to see feedback from other Area51 moderators or very experienced users. I"ve seen instances where people submit an alternative improved question (so the insufficient question remains with downvotes or closed and the improved question gets upvoted). I"m not sure what approach is better for Area51 proposals. Hoping a big user will respond??

As per @V2Blast's suggestion, posting my comment as an answer:

I would suggest leaving the original question for now so that other folk can see which questions work and which might need improvement, and (most importantly) how it needs changing. After spending a while on SE sites I can definitely recognise a question style that will get a good response, but this can take a bit of getting used to.
