    This is simply not an acceptable use of Area 51. Products need to be fully released and available to the public with publicly visible examples of a community. We do not build sites for beta products.

  • @animuson I understand your objection, and I agree that in most cases it would make sense. In this instance though, we are convinced that Stack Exchange is the right platform for this community. We believe that building our community from day one with Stack Exchange's unique user engagement model will help create the most vibrant community, and we are committed to making it work, in the most constructive way possible. Please give us a chance to prove ourselves..

  • @animuson We have worked really hard to prepare this community. For example, we engaged with our users to curate a list of close to 400 questions, with proper tags, allowing us to bootstrap the site with the right Q&A pattern. And we're conducting all our on-boarding interviews explaining how Stack Exchange is supposed to be used.

  • @animuson I read these guidelines and did not find anything indicating that we could not be eligible. It really feels like we never got a chance to follow the Area 51 process. Did I miss something?

I understand that the bar is high, but we have very committed early adopters, and we are going to prime our community website with a highly-curated list of questions that perfectly match the Stack Exchange Q&A pattern, as can be seen on this first list of 400+ questions. I do not understand the harm in giving us a fair shot at it.

The STOIC community is a group of 300+ users of the STOIC Progressive Data Platform, which has been released this month with an invite-only Beta. The community is expected to grow to 2,000 to 3,000 users by March 2022. We would really like to use Stack Exchange for managing this community and share knowledge about Information Design.
