Proposal: Numismatics & Philately - Coin & Postage Stamp Collecting

I feel that questions regarding the working of various postal networks and services etc. should be on-topic for this site as Philately comprises this study as well. Wikipedia's Diversification section of Philately supports my argument- and in the end, our goal should be to diversify (pun intended) the proposed site.

In that case, the proposal should be modified to Numismatics & Philately - Coin & Postal Study or so. The description should be changed accordingly.

According to Wikipedia,

Numismatics is the study or collection of currency, including coins, tokens, paper money and related objects. While numismatists are often characterised as students or collectors of coins, the discipline also includes the broader study of money and other payment media used to resolve debts and the exchange of goods.

Philately is the study of postage stamps and postal history. It also refers to the collection, appreciation and research activities on stamps and other philatelic products. Philately involves more than just stamp collecting or the study of postage; it is possible to be a philatelist without owning any stamps. For instance, the stamps being studied may be very rare or reside only in museums.

Thus, it seems that numismatics includes the study of money and philately includes the study of postal history.

I would actually prefer the site to be named just Numismatics and Philately.

Yes, the proposed site should be named Numismatics and Philately but for the meantime, the proposal name should be more explanatory to attract more people. – Gariman Singh May 14 at 13:02
