Hi I am a researcher and currently I have some unusual ideas about drone designs that I wish to try and know more about.

Is this site also going to go towards more experimental/scientific discussions of drone designs?

I would think it's appropriate to include all drones[*], especially research/development efforts. Otherwise the site risks being relegated to being a FAQ for whatever toys/hobby drones are hot this particular season.

Please also keep in mind @CaldeiraG's comment. This is a Q&A site, not a discussion site. A Q&A for novel drone designs might be "what are the known limitations of X" or "what is the state of the art for small propeller design?". Discussion would be more along the lines of an iterative "Do you think this would work? Okay, cool, now what about this modification?"

[*] for the common legal definition of drone, <25kg.
