Proposal: Animation

On Stack Overflow, asking how to do something without an exact problem is considered off-topic and will be downvoted and/or closed very quickly. This proposal has quite a few questions like that. On this proposal, is it considered on-topic to ask how to do something without providing a coding sample and a problem?

Just to clarify, I'm totally neutral on this and would like to hear everyone's opinions.

Questions like 'How to animate a character rig in Blender?' should be closed as too broad. While not every rule on Stack Overflow is universal across sites, the too broad closure is universal. THe nature of a QA site requires it.

too broad - if your question could be answered by an entire book, or has many valid answers (but no way to determine which - if any - are correct), then it is probably too broad for our format

I have since updated my questions, including the one you mentioned, to try and be more specific. – CodeMonkey Nov 27 '18 at 13:22
  • What about specific requests like, "how do I coloting effect used in [insert short clip]?" – Zach Saucier Dec 2 '18 at 14:15
  • @ZachSaucier If you mean "coloring effect" then I think it would be on-topic if the author would mention what tool they intend to use. – Philipp Jan 23 at 16:20
