I've created the proposal Math Challenges and several users have said that they've followed. However the count has not increased and they do not appear in the list of followers.

This issue has been brought up last year but it seems that no solution has been found. Can someone please resolve this?

  • This would be improved if you could include recent proofs, as done in the example you link to. It may well be that the people you think joined have not actually done so.

    @JamesJenkins I followed it today. Now the "unfollow" button is displayed (as a proof that I have followed) but the number doesn't change. Edit: It's now displaying, I suppose it takes a few hours to display the number.

    @paulplusx On Area51 it can take up to 24 hours for things that are near real time on other sites.

New users on Area51 needs to verify their email ID from profile. Only those who have verified their mail will be counted as followers when they click follow button.
