I'd like to propose a new site for Welsh language and Culture.

There's a huge effort in Wales to promote use of the Welsh language (Cymraeg), with the aim of reaching 1,000,000 speakers by 2050.

As it stands, online resources for Welsh learners are a bit of a mixed bag, and it's often difficult to find a straight answer to a question, e.g. on grammar or use of a phrase.

A StackExchange site would be a great way to gather useful Q&As for learners of the language, and of Welsh culture more generally.

How would the community feel about the creation of such a site?

If you know of a community to support your cause, you should contact them to see if there is interest in building a site. There isn't a large enough cross section of users sitting here now to reasonably gauge whether there is ultimately enough interest to build your site. When you submit a proposal for a site, it is generally assumed you have access to a community to build it. Area 51 cannot find that community for you.

To start the proposal process, go to the proposal listings on the main page, select a category to the left, scroll to the bottom, and select 'Propose a new site'. Please read the submission form carefully to understand the submission requirements.
