I remember that there was a proposal like "Indian Languages" may be deleted due to inactivity. And there was a question like "support Indian Language proposal instead of initiating separate" which might be deleted with the proposal.

Currently there are two active proposal 1. Sanskrit Language and 2. Hindi Language. And when I think for 3rd one say "Tamil Language", I feel that "Indian Languages" may be a better idea.

Sanskrit Language deserves the separate community. I want to know that should we have separate proposal for Hindi, Tamil etc. languages or it is better to have a big/giant "Indian Languages" proposal that should include include all the popular languages like Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Kannada, Malyalam, Bengali etc.

Separate proposal can focus on specific topic but it usually fails to gather the mass and though All in One proposal may include topics varies drastically but should become able to gather the enough activity of community.

Note that India has at least 400 languages, and perhaps as high as 700 or more, depending on the survey. Mar 19 '18 at 5:38

  • You might as well, now. Although, as you know, I suggest broadening it to all Indo-Iranian Family Languages. On the other hand, this would eliminate South Indian languages, since they are unrelated May 1 '18 at 2:23

  • Hi, would it be possible to make the proposal again? I wasn't aware of it at the time.

The best way to find out is to try.

Sanskrit is 10 months old and Hindi is 5 months old, neither is doing really well.

Go ahead and Make the proposal
