Proposal: SmugMug

Is Smugmug a candidate for the same thing as Facebook, at least in terms of developers asking questions with respect to the Smugmug API? It could be a nice way to get some of the Smugmug crowd into Stack Exchange.

You are referring, of course, to the creation of virtual sub-sites within the Stack Overflow (Stack Exchange) community.

Announcing facebook.stackoverflow.com

The facebook.stackoverflow.com sub-site is a selection of Facebook-related tags on Stack Overflow grouped together to make them accessible from a specific URL.

The "virtual sub-site" functionality is brand new and it is just being rolled out. It is still largely experimental and still being developed, so it is going to need to run for awhile to see what becomes of it.

But — based purely on speculation of, of course — a SmugMug site for developers or end users seems like a good use case for this functionality. It is hard to speculate this early.

  • If it were restricted to developers I'd agree. But enduser questions don't seem to fit SO. – CodesInChaos Nov 6 '11 at 10:42
  • It could be part of webapps. – Gelatin Nov 19 '11 at 21:01
  • So all Website API gonna be Virtual sub-site of StackOverflow because they are developpement related ? – Philippe Lavoie Nov 21 '11 at 16:48
