I propose that fantasy "weapons" should probably not be in scope. "Weapons" being any device or machine designed and/or used for war or warlike purposes. Unless they are trying to make comparisons based on very specific things or something special that we can deem appropriate. They will probably be much better represented and researched in the sci-fi SE.

Proposal: Weapons

This seems like the sort of discussion that would be better to have on the site's meta once it's live.

I feel that to be in-scope a weapon has to have real objective characteristics that people can discuss, so if a movie uses a gun or a sword that's "fantasy" but is clearly modified real item, then it could still be discussable. But if it's something like "can adamantium claws cut through mythril armor?" then that belongs elsewhere

I think Maxim has a point with banning questions that have no thought put into them, like "can adamantium claws cut through mythril armor?" This is a question that simply cannot be answered definitively because that is combining two different universes, but I think if there are well defined weapons within a certain universe (e.g. Star Wars), then if well asked, those can be in scope. For example, "Do Blasters have significant recoil in SW?
