Proposal: Veganism and Vegetarianism

How do you suggest we gain committers to our site proposal?

Things that spring to mind:

  • Creating a Community Promotion Ad which we then submit for review on sites that can sometimes overlap/attract people who'd be interested in our site (e.g. Seasoned Advice).

  • Post a notice on the meta sites of beta StackExchange topics that would have lots of likely-Vegetarians/Vegans, e.g. Sustainable Living, Health, Hinduism.

There are lots more sites on the fringe of relation (e.g. Physical Fitness, Bicycles, Arts and Crafts) that may attract but I'm not sure if everyone would welcome a post.

  • Posting the proposal on one or more of the various Vegan Facebook groups, subreddits like /r/vegan and /r/vegetarian, Twitter and Vegan/Vegetarian forum websites.

Reddit, Facebook and Twitter are full of committed and engaged Vegans, it's just a matter of us making the effort to advertise the site as much as possible.

  • I occasionally post it on reddit. Seems like some vegans get offended for the inclusion of vegetarianism in the proposal though.

I've posted about this on Buddhism Meta SE.

I would do the same on Hinduism SE, but I gave away my entire association bonus there in a bounty, so I can't even post on meta. Perhaps someone else could do it?

Another good idea is for people to add this to their profiles:

I've done it now on my profiles on all SE sites I'm a member of.

I enjoy the irony of a post referring to Mettā on a meta site :-) Commented Oct 5, 2016 at 0:10
