Proposal: Entertainment

Different types of entertainment already have their own Q&A sites:

If you want to ask or answer questions about any of the above, just join and participate in their respective sites. If there's another type or aspect of "entertainment" that there's no existing site for (list of all StackExchange sites), you should create a site for that instead of the general and ambiguous topic "Entertainment".

Also, there are other entertainment-related proposals for sites here on Area 51, that you might be interested in joining and supporting. For example:

  • Literature
  • Book Exchange
  • Humor

1 Answer 1

Now that people have added example questions, it's very clear that this proposal is a duplicate of the Movies & TV StackExchange site. If the followers of this proposal wish to ask questions about movies or TV shows on a StackExchange site, they should go to the site that already exists for that, instead of proposing a new one.

Many of the questions that have been proposed look like good questions for the Movies & TV site. However, many others would not be good questions for the StackExchange model—they wouldn't work well (or be accepted) on any StackExchange site. The classic post about this is here: Good Subjective, Bad Subjective. Pretty much everything I'd like to explain about the questions in this proposal is already explained in that post. Go read it! (Especially if you're one of the people organizing this proposal!)

…and by the time I finish writing this, the proposal has already been closed.
