Proposal: Retro Computing
The proposal only mentions micros. But retro computing is also about minis and big iron mainframes. Would it be acceptable to include all retro computing enthusiasts?
I think if it fits in with the general theme, i.e. repairing, developing hardware/software for them it could fit in for sure. I'd rather not be exclusionary based on size :)
Tidbit: I was using my Commodore 128 online in the early nineties to research pdp11 troubleshooting and programming information, so the notion of retro has probably shifted a bit, here. I'd say most certainly include the big iron.
And I certainly count on medium-ish iron being included too: minis are some of the most interesting retro computers within the reach of serious amateurs.
I'm far more into the programming side than the gaming side, but retro gaming is still huge. With appropriate tags for filters, I don't see any problem with allowing gaming questions. Questions about how to legally obtain games and how to play games whose manuals and cheat sheets have long since vanished would even be helpful in promoting retro computing in general.
