  • @algiogia that is not related to arts and crafts. Jul 28, 2015 at 14:02
  • Cooking is an art and you definitely "craft" something

  • @algiogia I hope you are joking. I know cooking is an art but here we are talking about drawing, Painting, and making decorative and useful objects . This is not about food. Jul 28, 2015 at 14:10
  • So what about things like this, this or this?

  • Also, this post suggests that Arts and Crafts would cover an eventual Art, so it's not just about drawing

  • @algiogia I think you can ask about decorating the cake but not about making the cake. I suggest that you start a new thread regarding your questions and doubts. Jul 28, 2015 at 14:29
  • This post is about where to post Arts&Crafts ads, not what question I can ask. A chef or baker could be interested in Arts&Crafts.

Community Ads are supposed to be relevant to the community you are advertising on. From the community ad question posted on every meta:

The goal is for future visitors to find out about the stuff your community deems important. This also serves as a way to promote information and resources that are relevant to your own community's interests, both for those already in the community and those yet to join.

I don't see how Arts & Crafts is relevant to most of the sites you are advertising on. For example, the Android Stack Exchange is about technology, not art. The only site it makes sense to advertise on is the Graphics Design site. You should remove the other ads because you are basically spamming uninterested communities.

  • Have removed the ad from all other sites except photography and graphics. Photography is a kind of art which shares the same rules as drawing. Jul 20, 2015 at 15:37

@TheIndependentAquarius This is completely correct. In general, ads should be relevant to the sites. If a site internally decides to advertise a less-related site, that's up to them but spamming an advert and asking people to upvote it on sites they don't even use is wrong and will likely get the ads removed by the site mods.

Anyway, all three of the sites you just mentioned (Japanese language, SQA and Pets) are beta sites... they don't get community adverts at all.

According to this answer on Stack Exchange Meta regarding what's in scope for Community Ads, "Broader announcements not really specific to that community — DEBATABLE". That doesn't sound like it's absolutely not allowed. I'm going to post a question on this there if I can't find a better answer.

@TheIndependentAquarius I'm not sure what ads you're talking about. I'll say it again, beta sites do not get community ads. Pets doesn't have ads. I'm not sure what you're seeing. I don't see anything on Pets that looks like an advert of any type.

  • @TheIndependentAquarius There's a difference between posting the ad and asking that community to consider it... but your post here is asking people from this community to vote up the ad proposals, which could force them on a community that doesn't want the ads, unless they have a meta community that is very active and similarly votes down the ad.

  • @TheIndependentAquarius Whatever ads you're seeing are not "community ads"... just look at the pets meta... there's no community ads topic to post the ad on to be voted upon. They even have this topic where they answer is "Beta sites don't get community ads.

@TheIndependentAquarius Whatever you're seeing, they're created by the SE system and we have no control of them... I'm assuming. I've even looked in the browser I don't have adblock in and I don't see any ads. If they weren't for SE sites, I'd guess you had something in your browser adding the ads, so I'm stumped. I never see ads on Beta sites at all.

  • Op: confusion has been cleared now. I have deleted my comments which are not relevant now since the advertising I was talking of is taken care by the system. So, nothing left to argue here. If you edit your answer someway, I will remove my downvote. Jul 21, 2015 at 8:02
