I am a registered user at this site and I have committed to the Stackoverflow in German proposal. I keep finding the following note on the page:

Please confirm your email address! Your commitment won't appear to others
until you do. If you didn't receive the email, try resending the confirmation
email or changing your email address.

I have clicked on this message, got an email, and confirmed my email more than once. What did I miss?

I found that cutting and pasting the confirmation link into a browser tab works. I don't know why directly clicking the confirmation link in my webmailer failed. – jknappen - Reinstate Monica Jul 8 '15 at 8:04
  • I had the same problem and copying the link to open in my browser also fixed it. Not sure if it's a problem with the Gmail app or something like that. – Fodder Apr 10 '17 at 4:39
  • Maybe post that comment as a self-answer? Specially now that it is confirmed by a second user? – rene Aug 18 at 6:01

As suggested by @rene, here is a self-answer:

I found that cutting and pasting the confirmation link into a browser tab works. I don't know why directly clicking the confirmation link in my webmailer failed (I used a PC running Firefox under Ubuntu Linux, BTW).
