I have relatively often questions where I don't know where I can ask them / discuss them. For example

  • I want to talk with people who know something about typography (in mathematics) about the geometrical structure of single line formulas (tex.stackexchange is not the right place, as it is not about tex; although it could fit into math.SE I guess it would be closed as the question is rather a discussion question)
  • I would like to know if there are websites which take a photo of a plant (and eventually some text) and give you information which plant it could be
  • Where can I ask questions about German politics?
  • Where can I discuss about (German) politics?
  • Where can I make quick 1-5 question surveys and how can I spread them to get meaningful answers?
  • What are your experiences with Amazon Mechanical Turk? What are captchas? What are examples how to use it?

For many questions, there is already a StackExchange sub-site, but finding it becomes difficult. Also, finding resources about where things can be discussed (if I want to start learning about a topic, but don't have enough knowledge to formulate precise questions) is difficult.

Where can I ask such questions? Is there eventually a StackExchange site for "where to ask" / "where to discuss" questions?

You may ask question where to ask on meta StackExchange. There is tag site-recommendation which says:

Don't know where to ask your question on the Stack Exchange Network? Give as much detail as possible about the question you'd like to ask, and the community will help you find the appropriate site.

You must log in to answer this question.
