It seems that this proposal doesn't have a lot of steam and the best way to fix that would be to share a link to it on Arts & Crafts type of sites. Ravelry (a social and project management site for knitters, crocheters, pattern designers, and yarn makers) has a forum.

Would linking to this proposal on Ravelry's forum be considered SPAM?

That would seem to be a question for the Ravelry site.

The only way to get a Stack Exchange site created is to find an interested and enthusiastic community to help build it. That often means reaching out to existing communities to see if they have any interest in this project at all. But every site has their own policies about linking to or promoting external activities, so be sure to check with their community first so you are no labeled a spammer.

Good luck!

  • The problem I wanted to avoid is that by asking on Ravelry about this SE site necessitates mentioning the SE site itself. The question itself could be spammy just by bringing it up, at least in the forum. However, I will try tweeting/emailing the owners.
