Proposal: Music Fans

For example, would Can lyrics of political nature really revolutionize a nation that lacks of good basic education? be a valid question?

I think the description doesn't scope that kind of question very well.

Any thoughts?

I'd disagree with user3169's answer. With specific song lyrics, the only acceptable answer is "Maybe, who knows?" unless there is actual evidence that those specific lyrics have contributed to social change. As a general question it could work, because a good answer would specifically point to revolutionary songs and allow readers to draw their own conclusions about other songs they might wonder about.

  • Nice. Possibly, if I asked Are there any historical evidences that lyrics of political nature really caused social change and revolutionized a nation? it would be even better. – falsarella Feb 13 '15 at 17:44

@falsarella Yes, that sounds good to me. – Matthew Read Feb 13 '15 at 17:44
  • Looking at that point of view, it could also be a suited question at Skeptics exchange. – falsarella Feb 13 '15 at 17:47

@falsarella Assuming you could find a notable source claiming that songs have or have not had such an effect, it does indeed sound like a Skeptics question. – Matthew Read Feb 13 '15 at 17:55
