Proposal: Physics homework questions

Computational Science's Tour page says,

Computational Science is a question and answer site for questions and answers about computational methods used in technical disciplines.

where "technical disciplines" includes physics.

This proposal claims,

Proposed Q&A site for students needing help and hints for physics problems and questions either experimental, conceptual or computational and people who need help to understand a concept in physics or have questions about some concepts taught in class or physics books.

Which suggests that questions about computational methods in physics would be on topic here.

How is this proposal not at least a partial duplicate of the already-existing Computational Science site?

Computational Science is for

(Computational Science Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for) scientists using computers to solve scientific problems.

By computation in Physics Homework Questions it is meant to do computation-like works on a paper using physics and mathematical formulas. Numbers may or may not be involved. Computers are hardly involved especially for someone trying to learn physics.

  • So basically "computational" in your description is not actually the dictionary definition of the word (literally, of, or relating to computers) but instead means "calculation." You may want to consider clarifying the scope of the site in your proposal.

Yes, if that's the case I use the word calculational in the discription instead. Oct 29, 2014 at 17:32
