Hi there is now more than 3 hundred commiters to that forum and the rate is 99% (and not increasing anymore when new commers get in). How long do we have to wait until the beta forum actually starts ?

I suspect that we have to wait until we have enough users to be at 100%. 99% isn't enough to get into beta.

The necessary number of users is a completely unknown statistic because it involves things like the users' reputation on other sites, etc. It so happens that our proposal has mostly new users (which I take to be a good thing, because it means these people are into finance rather than just programming). So we must still be patient until we have a few more users commit to the proposal.

Now that it's at 100%, it will go into private beta in a few days.

And by a few days, I presume you mean "Monday"? :) – Shane Jan 28 '11 at 16:55

Are private beta's like diets? Always starting "tomorrow"? :D – MattC Jan 28 '11 at 18:42
  • @MattC: "Tomorrow", "After the weekend" or even "After the holly-day season", yes like diets :) – Maniero Jan 29 '11 at 12:36

I'm not sure what the policy is with crossover between here and meta, but this has been asked a bunch of times there (1, 2, 3, 4); the answer is generally that each beta is launched when the team is ready to handle another one
