Proposal: μ-Stack Overflow + Code Review sounds like a mimic of CodeReview.SE for Electronics.SE.

Is that correct? If so, I think it sounds pretty cool.

Not my downvote but it'll be interesting to see some examples that wouldn't go well on EE.SE. Most review and best practice questions seem to go OK as long as they're reasonable in scope and not huge code / schematic dumps. Latest example I can think of because it's only a few days old: electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/129147/…

The name of it alone pretty much says that it is a duplicate. And not only one, but two duplicates at once. Sep 18 '14 at 0:07

Not completely!

it derived and combined from CodeReview.SE and SO for only embedded employees. In my opinion, as I already said, SO(Stack Overflow) is really overflowed! because when you ask your question, after several second it would go down(it reduce your chance to get a good or complete answer) and While you can ask your question about your field but it's not suitable for an embedded employees because in my opinion SO is suitable for CISC architecture more than RISC (many MCUs and MPUs have RISC architecture). we have some little proposals here for some embedded products like arduino or raspberrypi or... those are in beta situation. all of those proposals could be a subset for μ-Stack Overflow + Code Review. on other hand, "μ-Stack Overflow + Code Review" can be a perfect supplements for Electronics.SE because it's a dedicated place for embedded employees not all programmers(web-designers or...) hence it can be a specialty place. that's a benefit. I hope my answer will clear you.

  • have you looked at electronics.se?

  • @warren Of course! I'm an active member at electronics.se but "μ-Stack Overflow + Code Review" is not like electronics.se as you can see. is the Code Review.SE ike electronics.se? if you think "μ-Stack Overflow + Code Review" is dump then you're wrong! because we have the same thing like arduino or raspberrypi. trust me. we EE need to a separate part for programming.

you don't seem to understand how Stack Overflow and Code Review work, then :)

  • @warren Funny! I'm sure that I know how those work. probably you mean I don't know the rule of them!? is it correct? if no, please clear me What's the point?

  • if you're asking to split embedded development from Stack Overflow and Electronics.SE, it's [almost guaranteed] not going to happen. If you're looking for a Code Review sister to Electronics.SE, I could see it - but Code Review likely already covers your imagined audience. If not, they're on-topic at Stack Overflow and/or Electronics.SE

  • @warren: "On topic" is not everything. Let me refer you to a prior discussion. OTOH, outside of the "code review" part this proposal overlaps the Embedded reboot.
