I am looking at the Music proposal to see how it is doing. This example is 16 days into beta. Granted the health levels will change (hopefully not too much) by the time the beta ends and progress is evaluated, but I still want to know how it is doing.

Questions per day, % answered, Answer ratio: it is easy to know in the early stages how the beta is doing.

Users: Looking at the top users, seeing how consistently they gain reputation, I can guess how many of them (or even which ones) will land in the higher reputation categories.

But visits a day is only at 276! (way below the worrying 500) Does this number usually move up linear? Does it curve down or up? This is the only one that is a) biased to the age of the site and b) no way to find history for. (Users which matches rule (a), you can find reputation history so it does not match rule (b).)

Feature Request: Can we get a visits per day chart to compare beta sites?

Note that mods have access to a whole bunch of such (or similar) charts and stats. But they are also asked to never share the specifics in public, so I'm not sure how likely it is that the powers that be just go ahead and share the data with everyone.

  • Well Stackexchange.com already lists the stats @RedDwight, so I could scrape them or copy them and make my own charts. Furthermore, quantcast has verified numbers for each site, so its hardly private either. I for one would like some comparable stats to know how my site is doing.

  • @Ivo: Where are those stats you are speaking of? They would only be useful if they would determine the trend of visits per day. I only see visits at the moment numbers. For example, the German site at this moment has more visits per day than the Music site. That could be because all the private beta users are getting into the brand new site and it would slack off later once the brand new shine gets a little wear.. On the other hand, it could mean that the German site is doing exponentially well. So any numbers or chart or statistics on how visits per day changes over two months would be nice. • Here: stackexchange.com/sites?expand=true The numbers are supposedly moving averages over 2 week intervals, so they fluctuate heavily on new beta sites.

  • @Ivo: Yea, I already knew about that. It does not give me much of a historical perspective on an individual site. Oh well. Jun 1, 2011 at 14:08
  • That's what I said: I could scrap or copy them, but why not make it easy for us?
