Proposal: Music Fans
Just as the title says above, am I allowed to ask for recommendations on artists similar to an artist I may like. E.g. Snoop Dog or is this crossing the line into opinionated/too broad?
Probably yes I am guessing?

I would agree with you that, as asked, that's probably too broad. We'll have to wait and see how the site shapes up during the private beta, etc., to know for sure, though.
I think with a very narrow set of objective criteria (e.g, artists who are academically considered to be from certain movements), we may be able to get some useful responses, though. Even that is a slippery slope, though, as there's not always agreement between music historians.
