Proposal: Stack Overflow (in Spanish)

Probably this is a silly question but I'm just wondering how are badges going to be translated into Spanish. I've been trying some translations and they just don't feel right. Maybe I'm too used to see them in English? :)

EG: How are the Nice question, Good question and Great question badges going to be translated? Pregunta buena, Pregunta excelente and Pregunta estupenda?

I would rather say "Buena Pregunta", "Excelente Pregunta" etc. And I actually do not see anything wrong with those translations, they look perfectly natural to me.

  • @yms Yes, I agree. However, in English it is possible to keep the question word in the same place (eg: <adjective> question) but in Spanish we have to switch positions for at least of the badges. In other words, I couldn't find 3 of them that have the adjective in the same position and sound good on the three of them. In the examples you gave you missed the last one which would sound better as Pregunta estupenda rather than Estupenda pregunta and that would mean changing positions again. Jan 29, 2014 at 5:20

I don't like "Pregunta Legal" either... I would prefer "Pregunta Destacada" or "Pregunta Relevante" or "Pregunta Válida" or "Pregunta Agradable", but "Legal" sounds boring...
